DISTRICT 1 RULES 2010
CLASSES: Classes for District 1 are as follows:
Men’s Release, Fixed Sights male shooting a release with fixed sights; stabilizer must be less than 14” – (green stakes)
Men’s Bowhunter Open male shooting release with movable sights or with stabilizer over 14” – (orange stakes)
Women’s Release, Fixed Sights woman shooting a release with fixed sights; stabilizer must be less than 14” – (yellow stakes)
Women’s Bowhunter Open woman shooting a release with movable sights or with stabilizer over 14” – (yellow stakes)
Men’s Fingers male shooting fingers with fixed sights – (green stakes)
Women’s Fingers woman shooting fingers with fixed sights; stabilizer must be less than 14” – (yellow stakes)

Junior Girl’s Fingers girls (13 - 15) shooting fingers with fixed sights – (yellow stakes)
Junior Girl’s Traditional girls (13 - 15) shooting a Longbow, Recurve, Stickbow without sights (Compounds excluded) – (yellow stakes)
Crossbow male or female,
unlimited – (green stakes)
(Except for Round Robin shoots, use of crossbows is at discretion of club
hosting shoot)
Seniors all shooters 50 years and older, unlimited equipment – (green stakes)
Cubs boys and girls ages (10 -12) shooting fingers or release with fixed or movable sights – (white stakes)
Pee Wees boys and girls ages (9 and under) shooting fingers or release with fixed or movable sights – (white stakes)
- Juniors will move to adult classes on their 16th birthday.
- Cubs will move to junior classes on their 13th birthday.
- Pee Wees will move to Cubs on their 10th birthday.
- All unaided compound shooters will shoot from the traditional stake (Yellow)
FEES: McKenzie target shoots will be $ 10.00 for adults and $5.00 for juniors. Youths (ages 12 and under) will shoot free.
There is a maximum $20.00 charge per family. *** Fees may vary for special club events***
SHOOTING STAKE COLORS:
White = Cubs/PeeWees * Yellow = Women & Traditional * Green = Bowhunter * Orange = Open
REGISTRATION TIME: 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Score cards must be turned in by 4:00 P.M. to have scores counted for awards.
TROPHIES: The number of trophies awarded in each class is based upon the number of shooters in each class:
1 Shooter ......... 1 Trophy 5 Shooters ......... 2 Trophies 7 Shooters ......... 3 Trophies
*** Anyone not present or not making arrangements for someone to pick up their trophy when trophies are presented will forfeit their place.
SCORING: Eleven rings will be counted. Scoring is to be posted at all shoots. If arrow shaft touches the line, the next higher score counts. No score for antlers or hooves on McKenzie targets. Glancing shots will be scored as zero. The arrow must stick in the target. Any “pass throughs”, if witnessed, may be re-shot.
SHOOTING: Four (4) people from any club may shoot together in a group (5 including a cub or peewee),
THIS ALSO APPLIES TO ANY ROUND ROBIN SHOOTS. Shooters must touch the stake while shooting.
Clubs are to have rules posted at registration for all shoots.
MAXIMUM TARGET DISTANCES WILL BE:
(WHITE STAKES) – 20 YARDS FOR CUBS & PEEWEES
(YELLOW STAKES) – 30 YARDS FOR WOMEN, TRADITIONAL & JUNIORS
(GREEN STAKES) – 40 YARDS FOR MEN
(ORANGE STAKES) – 50 YARDS for MENS OPEN
***All maximum target distances are approximate and due to human error targets may be set slightly over the defined distances
(by a reasonable margin). However, all clubs are encouraged to try their best to stay within the maximum distances.
