In this example, Team #7 and Team #8 advance to the Championship Shoot-off
· In the event that one or more teams wins both halves, additional teams will be selected to bring the total of Shoot-off teams to four (4) based on the following criteria:
1. Overall team win record for both halves.
2. Total team points for both halves.
Handicap System
· If a shooter is absent, the team will use his/her average plus handicap, minus 10% for a blind score. If, after two consecutive blind scores, the league committee has not been contacted, the shooter will be presumed to have quit. A cut-off score will be used until a replacement shooter is found.
· The team will use a blind score for a shooter who quits for any reason, for two weeks. After two weeks, the score will be the lowest score used in determining the break point between shooter classes minus 10%. (Example: If a cut-off for A shooters was 250 points when the A class was determined, then 250 points minus 10%, or 225 points, will be the score used until a replacement shooter is found. Cut-off points will be set after the 1st week.
Substitute Shooters
· A substitute shooter may be asked to shoot for any team after the first week. Subs must be in the same class as the shooter they are substituting for. A substitute shooter cannot be on the opposing team for the week. Subs will shoot one (1) normal round with their score counting on both teams. Both teams must agree to the substitution. The League committee must be notified of a sub prior to shooting. If no sub can be found, a blind score will be used for the shooters absence.
· Any individual unable to shoot the league is welcome to have his/her name put on a substitute shooters list. All subs must shoot one (1) round to establish a handicap and shooter class prior to shooting for any league team.
Team Scoring
The possible total score is eight (8) points per team per week. If two competing teams tie in team points, the two (2) match points will be split. Blind scores will not be used in determining individual points. You must be present or have arranged a substitute shooter to win shooter against shooter.

Orange stake – 40 yards maximum |
Yellow stake – 30 yards maximum |
|
Green stake – 30 yards maximum |
White stake – 15 yards maximum |
· Compound shooters will shoot from the ORANGE and GREEN stakes. Traditional, Women, and Junior shooters will shoot from the GREEN and YELLOW stakes. Cubs will shoot from the WHITE stakes.
** All scores must be turned in to the league committee (Mark, Jim, or ED) no later than the following Friday evening, if participants miss that week’s Wednesday evening shoot and no sub was used, a blind score will be posted. **
Championship Shoot-off
· Trophies/awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams, High League Average, High League Score with Handicap, and Most Improved League Shooter.
· A shooter or their substitute must be present the evening of the shoot-off for their score to count (there will be no exceptions.).
· All league members not involved in the Shoot-off are welcome to shoot that night.
Weekly Shooting Times
· Each Wednesday from approximately 5 PM till dark is when most league shooters try to shoot. If you are unable to shoot this day, you still can shoot the course on Thursday or Friday. Note: All scores must be turned (called or e-mailed) in by Friday night to a Committee member!
· If Apache Bowhunters has a 2-day shoot scheduled, Thursdays will be the only day a league member will be permitted to make-up their weekly league score. No Exceptions!
Setting the Course
· Each week a different team will be assigned to set the course. The schedule is included on the last page of these rules sheets, and will be posted on the Apache web page.
· If all team members are unable to set the course on their assigned week, please try to switch with another team or contact someone on the committee prior to the shoot night.
· Failure to do so will cause the team to lose their points for that week.
· Put the range closed sign up as you start to set the course. This will help prevent someone from coming up behind you shooting the course.
· When setting the course, please keep all shooters in mind so everyone can enjoy the league. Shooting stakes are to be kept in a straight line to the target. It will be necessary for the stake setters to be at the club early on their assigned date. It takes approximately 1 hour to set the course. Please try to have the course set as early as possible so that it can be inspected and ready to shoot by 5 PM.
Course is set: Date:__________ By Team:_____________
The League Safety Chair or his designee will inspect the course for safety and sign the white board as well on completion.
